Simon & Garfunkel, the pop duo consisting of Paul Simon
and Art Garfunkel, sang
a version of Benedictus by Orlando Lassus on their
debut album, Wednesday Morning, 3 a.m. where the composition
credit reads "arr. and adapt. by Simon-Garr." It is available also on the set
Old Friends released in 1997 (where the compositon credit reads
"Traditional; arranged by P. Simon & A. Garfunkel"). The Simon & Garfunkel
version was recorded on March 31st 1964 but not released until
October 19th of that year.
