The Good Will
Kant
Kant: "Nothing can possibly be conceived in the world, or even out of it,
which can be called good, without qualification, except a Good Will." (P
419b)
What is not good without qualification:
- Gifts of Nature
- Talents of the Mind
E.g. intelligence, wit, judgment
- Qualities of Temperament
E.g. courage, resolution, perseverance
- Gifts of Fortune
E.g. power, riches, honor, health, general well-being and
contentment
with one's conditions (happiness)
