Adapting of means to ends: things are put together so that their purpose can be accomplished.

Examples:

• The cornea of the eye is transparent so that the eye can see.
• Rain falls so that plants can get water.
• Doors are hinged so that they can be opened.
• Steps of stairs are spaced so that they can easily be climbed.
