Ends and Means
End = the goal or purpose of something
Means = ways of achieving an end
Adapting of means to ends: things are put together so that
their purpose can be accomplished.
Examples:
- The cornea of the eye is transparent so that the eye can see.
- Rain falls so that plants can get water.
- Doors are hinged so that they can be opened.
- Steps of stairs are spaced so that they can easily be climbed.
